#DDChat Expands

#DDChat New

#DDChat has evolved a lot since I first started it in January. I began as a monthly Twitter chat discussing dyslexia. The first hour always consists of topic questions with the second hour open for anything Tweeters want to discuss incase there were any pressing topics they wanted to discuss. After a few months it became clear that a monthly chat was not enough!  Read the rest of this entry

Dyslexia and Me: UK Elections

Tweeting the Leaders

Tweeting the Leaders

I am not expecting a response from any of the party leaders, but I wanted to Tweet to the four parties that are most likely to gain votes in my constituency in the UK General Election next week.  Read the rest of this entry

And Breathe!

Hey folks,

Sorry it’s been a while since my last proper blog post. After blogging non stop for a whole month I have been utterly exhausted! Huge thanks again to all of you who supported #blogging4charity and who donated money to British Dyslexia Association.

I wanted to post up a quick blog to you all just so you know I am still alive. My Twitter and Facebook pages have also been a little bit quieter than normal too. I will post up a new blog very soon to a better standard than this one, possibly with some photos of my recent adventures away from the computer screen.

#DDChat has expanded now and I have a new job, so there are loads of things to update you all on. I shall try to do this update in the next day or so.

Thanks again to everyone who has supported myself and the blog.

#DDChat Questions 9th April 2015

#DDChat is a weekly Twitter chat discussing all things dyslexia! It takes place Thursday evening 8-10pm GMT (that’s UK time and we are now in BST – British Summer Time, so make sure if you are outside the UK to double-check the time).

You can get involved using the hashtag #DDChat. The first hour consists of the questions below and the second hour is an open floor to either continue discussion from the questions or to discuss anything dyslexia related. Remember you can suggest topics for us to discuss by going to the #DDChat tab at the top of the page.

Here are the questions.  Read the rest of this entry

Dyspraxia, Superpowers and the Doorframes that Bite!

I am often called clumsy. I have been my whole life. From accidentally kicking over pint glasses to falling off walls, I’ve always been a little bit accident prone. Or was it really an accident?

On the way to the kitchen at around 9:30pm last night to make a cup of tea, I was attacked once again by the door frame. It bit me and I thought I was going to end up with another bruise this morning, but the pink marks from last night have faded. I sure was glad that this recent attack by the doorframe happened on the way to the kitchen this time and not when I had a hot cup of tea in my hand.  Read the rest of this entry

Clone Wars

If you could clone yourself, how would you split up your responsibilities?

My organisational skills are often pretty poor. I’m not very good at being able to divide up work and play into manageable chunks. I think that was quite evident on my blog when I was working full-time. I was unable to keep up with blogging, household chores and any other of the fun and creative things I like to do.  Read the rest of this entry

#blogging4charity – Z is for Zoo

Dear Zoo

I didn’t like books when I was young unless they were read to me. But there were some exceptions to the rule such as Rod Campbell’s book Dear Zoo. I loved how interactive it was and that I didn’t need to be able to read to enjoy the book.

Other favourites I had as a young child were The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Jolly Postman.

I struggled to think of something beginning with Z at short notice…

Sorry again for the late post and the short blog. I’m visiting family. Will post something more substantial tomorrow….

Please donate 🙂
