Dyslexia and Me: Y is for Yawn!

I’ve often been called ‘lazy’ over the years. To a point, I probably am. I do like my bed a lot and I’m not really into exercising (partly because I hate feeling sweaty! Yuck!). Dyslexia and Me: D is for db?

One of the things people assume I struggle with as a dyslexic person is working out the difference between letters such as d and b or p and q as they are a mirror image of each other. Some dyslexic people do struggle when reading or writing these letters, however I don’t recall ever having an issue with them. I do write u and n, m and w the wrong way around when I am writing by hand though not when I’m typing. I think it could be due to the coordination between my brain and hand being out of sync (I think a lot faster than I can possibly keep up with when writing).  Read the rest of this entry

You will have had to be hiding under a rock for the last couple of weeks to have missed the extremely sad news on the passing of Robin Williams. Robin was one of my favourite actors from when I was a kid watching the reruns of Mork and Mindy with my older cousin who used to babysit for us on a Tuesday evening. I loved many of his films from Aladdin, Hook and Mrs Doubtfire to Good Morning Vietnam and Patch Adams. I think he was my first favourite actor!  Read the rest of this entry
